Ok, so this past weekend I went to Colorado's first Anime Wasabi convention. It was much better than I had expected and I had a blast! I went for only Friday and Saturday, but that was still awesome and amazing....well more awesome, but still. Anyway, on to my adventures during the convention!


Friday
So, I went down early Friday afternoon with my friend Skye. I was in my Peter "Petunia" Pan outfit with the new headband and belt that I made. We found the hotel pretty easy, got lost only once and we realized it pretty quickly. So, we got to the Holiday Inn and found a superb parking spot and went in to get our badges from registration. I had pre-reged, so I only waited for about 5 minutes (then again there wasn't much of a line for it at the time. I'm guessing people came in Friday afternoon and didn't really come in on Thursday evening). Skye however was reging at the door and while the staff thought this was a good idea, it wasn't fully thought through. What I mean is that reging at the door involved having to text message your information in order to get your badge and such. Great idea, but not everyone has texting capabilities. But from the looks of it later on, they got it taken care of and such. But after getting our badges, there wasn't much to do, so we went and got ourselves some food at Pizza Hut. Then we went back to the hotel and had half of our meal (Pizza Hut's cheese sticks are strange!) We put the rest in the car and then pretty much went and waited in line for the dealer's room. We were first in line basically; however, AW did something pretty cool that I might take advantage of next year. They had special passes known as "V.I.P." where you could pay another $15 for this particular badge and you could skip lines to get into the dealer's room, dances, panels, signings, etc.. So that was a really cool idea that they had. While waiting in line Skye and I met Chris and he was only there for Friday, but he was still fun to talk with. And then we'd take turns running around getting pictures while the others would hold our spot in line. I got way more pictures this time around and I am so much happier with them =^.^= But yea, while entrance into the dealer's room was delayed by an 1 hour and 15 minutes for normal goers, VIP got in after a delay of 30 minutes. But I still got some awesome stuff! And I was fine for waiting, the time went pretty fast actually and there was nothing else going on until 5:00. So, in the dealer's room I got the following:

Yea, that was nothing near what I was wanting to get to start with...with exception of the Ramune. Haha. But yea. I had wanted to get some other things later, but sadly, Friday was actually the best buying day! But yea, after buying all that, Skye and I went back to Skye's car and stashed away our new merchandise. On our way to her car Candy Ninja just so happened to jump out from behind some cars and I screamed "CANDY NINJA!" and got candy then...then he made his way into the con. Once we came back and wandered around the con taking pictures and such...and I bought more stuff, but this time in Artist Alley. From here I got the following:

Then, we ended up going to the Props 101 panel, which I wish was better, but can't do much now, can I. But the guys were pretty cool and such and we ended up hanging out with them later. After that (it had ended early) I ended up realizing that one of the chicks I met when waiting in the dealer's line was actually someone I met at NDK last year! Oh and I forgot to mention that this chick had spent $300 in the dealer's room in one go...and she had a VIP badge too! Wow...that's amazing. Haha, yea, that was pretty funny when that was discovered. Then, after that was the glowsticking panel...I can do a wave now! I feel so accomplished, lol. But that was fun and it was directed by my friend from my EDF class back at school. And then after that, I met Skye's friend Robin who had reserved our room over at Crosslands (it was two blocks away and half the price of the Holiday Inn). But before we went to go to the hotel for a moment, we stopped by that chick's room (her name is Kristina actually), to see what all she got...yea, she got A LOT. But after that, we went to the hotel and dropped our stuff off. Yea, Skye and I still had our stuff in Skye's car the entire day since Robin wasn't going to get there until later, but it all worked out. So we did that, I got out of my Peter Pan outfit (my feet were dying!) and I got into something more comfy...and I was wearing my tail around while sporting my new Kingdom Hearts belt, haha. I REALLY WANT THE SECOND GAME! But anyway, yea...we were hungry though and so the three of us went to Wendy's for dinner. There we ran into the guys who gave the prop panel and stuff while there. So we chatted with them and then they left in a hurry, so we finished our fries (and me with my frosty) before returning to the con. There we ended up taking more pictures, hanging out with the prop guys, and waited in line for the rave. I ended up just going into Anime Karoke though because I wasn't wanting to wait in line after a while...and Skye and Robin came back from the rave a while later and were like, "It was pretty boring, no one was really dancing except for a few people." But yea, karoke was interesting, I met a guy named, "Mike" and we talked most of the time, well I met him when we were hanging out with the prop guys, but we talked a lot more during the karoke. Then at about 2:00 am Skye, Robin, and I left to go back to our room and turn in for the night.

Saturday
So, I had set my alarm for 9:30 am so I could get up, take a shower, and transform into Stephanie! Haha, but Shannon ended up texting me asking if Kyle Hebert had his badge yet. Yea, that was at 8:45 am, but that's ok. I still <3 you Shannon! So yea, I got up about 30 minutes later (before my alarm) and took my shower...and I forgot that hair gel doesn't really work as well when the hair is wet, but I still got my hair up and into my wig cap. By the time I was still getting ready, Robin had gotten up, and then after I got fully ready and was having a Ramune, Skye slowly woke up. Once we were up and ready we headed out for breakfast at Denny's. Yea, that was fun because all the little girls looked over at me in amazement and I would just wave back with a smile and they would smile. Haha, oh the advantages of pink! But there were some little boys who did the same, lol, but yea, got out from there after about 45 minutes and arrived at the con. There we wandered around a bit since I still had time before Kyle's Dubbing 101 panel. I ended up wandering around and got a pack of Ramune for Mandy since I had told her that I'd get her some for something that happened earlier that week. And then...I don't really remember how I passed that time, but I eventually wound up over at the Dubbing 101 panel and gave Kyle his MSA badge, got a picture with him, and then Shannon wanted to talk to him, so I gave him my phone for a brief moment.

AND RANDOM INTERRUPTION! I just found out Vic voiced Takenaga from Wallflower...which explains why I was thinking it was him. Oh what a random moment of spaz and "OHMYGOD"s and yea...so now he must sign my manga because I love the manga.

Ok, back to what I was saying. So, yea, Kyle's panel was awesome. I have videos of it, so those will be located down at the bottom of this with the link to the pictures I took and other videos I got at the con. Then, after that panel I...I don't remember what I did now. Oh yea, it was more of just wandering around and such. I had to wait for my dad to come get me at 5:30 and Skye and Robin wanted to go back to the hotel, so Skye gave me her badge so I could show my dad around the con since he had yet to witness one. So, while I waited I ended up going to Anime Improv which was hilarious. And while I was waiting Hughes saw me and asked me to sing the cake song, but I unfortunatly didn't know it at the time!! But he still gave me a Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles pin/button :D And then NDK staff was passing out fliers and such, so from that I got a NDK pin/button. Finally, while in Anime Improv, I just so happened to look into the hallway and see the back of my dad's head. He had said that he'd call me once he got there, but instead he opted for searching for me instead and not calling. So it was quite a chance occurance. But yea, showed Dad around the convention to give him a slight idea of what was going on. After that, as we were leaving some gal came up and gave me a hug :) And my dad was like ,"Who's she?" and I was like ,"I don't know." Haha, he thought it was weird that people would give random hugs XDD And in the end, Wasabi was a blast and I got lots of Candy from Candy Ninja!
